About Lubangi Muniania
Lubangi Muniania is an art educator, reporter, podcaster and documentarist from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Among many achievements, Muniania worked as Director of Education at the Museum for African Art in New York. He also worked as a consultant for some other museums. He also served as Senior Instructor at the Kimpa Vita Institute, and content producer for many other organizations. For instance, he produced educational events for Yale and Columbia universities, City College of New York, United Nations, and many more.
He created Tabilulu Productions to help people “Experience Africa through performance, music, art, theater, film & conferences”. Tabilulu Productions helped produce some renowned artists like Nkossi Konda and Shiko Mawatu. Lubangi also released documents like Memories of Lumumba or the Museum for African Art.
Lubangi also has a strong knowledge of Congolese music, that he put in contributions for many bloggers and podcasters like the afropop.org website. He intervenes in this podcast on the 5th generation of Congolese music by Banning Eyre for instance. His concise insights are greatly useful and demonstrate his understanding of that area.
